About Us

We are the Medicine Hat Heat U16 ringette team, proudly representing Medicine Hat, Alberta, a city known for its warm community spirit, breathtaking river valleys, wide open praire skies, and a deep love of ringette culture the runs right through to the ice. Nestled in the heart of southern Alberta, Medicine Hat is a tight knit community where local sport is more than a pastime it's a way of life, and the passion that fuels our city everyone of us everytime we lace up our skates. Our team was formed with one powerful shared goal, to compete at the 2027 Lions Cup in Espoo, Finland. Representing our city on an international stage is a honor we don't take lightly, and every practice, every early morning, and every sacrifice made along the way has been in pursuit of this incredible opportunity.

We are a group of passionate, driven, and dedicated young women who have worked tirelessly on and off the ice to attend this tournament. We believe deeply in the power of girls in sport, not just for the goals scored or the games won, but for the confidence, leadership, resilience, and lifelong friendships that are built through athletic competition. Research consistently shows that girls who play sports perform better academically, develop stronger self-esteem, and grow into more empowered young women and we see that truth reflected in every single member of this team, Ringette is a sport born in Canada and played with heart, and it gives us the perfect platform to show the world what girls from small Alberta city are tuly capable of. Every girl on this roster is living proof that when young women are given the opportunity, the resources, and the belief of their community, they rise to meet every challenge placed in front of them.

As we prepare to take the ice in Espoo, we carry with us the pride of Medicine Hat, the support of our families and coaches, and the spirit of every young girl in our community who dreams of completing at the highest level.

We are the Heat and we are just getting started!!!!!
